To support commercial research projects The Interaction Lab has its own well equipped user testing facility capable of evaluating anything from websites and mobile apps to smart TVs, VR and consumer products. Our user testing facility is available to hire by those wishing to conduct their own sessions in Central London. We offer basic or premium pricing based on the observation space required. Below we provide prices based on a full day (10am – 6pm). Different fees apply for half day.

Basic Lab Hire provides observation space for small parties (Max 4) from an adjoining control room via one way mirror. – £550 day (ex VAT)

Premium Lab Hire provides observation space for larger groups (Max 10) streamed in real time to a comfortable workshop space nearby. Whiteboards and large work services are on hand for those wishing to conduct concurrent analysis. – £800 day (ex VAT)

Teas and coffees for observers are included within the lab hire fee as well as an optional meet and great service for participants and observers where a member of lab staff greets participants at reception and takes them to the labs waiting area.

• Cutting Edge Equipment

  Meta Quest 2 and Pico 4 headsets, current gen consoles, smartphones and tablets can be provided for use during research projects. Use of this kit will incur an extra fee.

• Accessibility

  The Lab is also equipped with the latest versions of assistive technologies such as screen readers (JAWS, NVDA) and screen magnifiers (ZoomText).

The Interaction Lab also has at our disposal a flexible multipurpose creative space dubbed The Sandbox.

The Sandbox has multiple uses from hosting collaborative creative problem solving activities such as card sorts and participatory design workshops, to being a venue for formative research such as interviews and focus groups.

The Sandbox is fitted with multiple whiteboards and projectors across two of its walls and is well stocked with post-it notes and marker pens making to a perfect environment for ideation workshops – £350 day (ex VAT).

In order to support testing in a more domestic setting the lab has installed in a small experience lounge area with sofas, shelves and television. This aims to reflecting the shift in consumer behaviour from sitting at a computer to accessing the web anywhere. The experience lounge can be used for the following activities:

• Smartphone / tablet testing
• Games testing
• Smart TV testing
• Second screen testing

Experience Lounge bookings include recordings of all interactions as well as picture in picture of the participants with audio – £550 day (ex VAT).
