City Interaction Lab are Offering Free UX Support for Teams on the Front Line

In this time of crisis City Interaction Lab recognises the strain that user experience teams must be under to swiftly and safely adapt their web presence to keep up with ever shifting needs. Especially in key sectors such as health charities, government departments and those supplying groceries and other essential supplies.

We also recognise that not all organisations will have the budget to engage freelancers to support them in addressing these challenges.

It is for this reason that between the 30th March 2020 and 30th June 2020 we will provide our time for free to support up to two user research projects a month. These projects can take the form of expert reviews or remote moderated user testing.

We will only support projects directly related to the Covid-19 outbreak, so providing important information, handling increase in demand etc. Not ‘business as usual’ work.

Projects will be run like any other piece of consultancy work, we just will not be charging for our labour. Teams will still be required to pay for user recruitment and user incentives.

In order to be considered you will need to answer yes to all of the following:

  • Is my organisation providing an essential public service?
  • Is the task directly related to Covid-19, and not business as usual?
  • Do I need an expert review or remote moderated user testing?
  • Do I lack the funds to engage a freelancer?
  • Are you based in the United Kingdom?

Anyone in need of support please send an introductory e-mail to stuart.scott.2@city.ac.uk, explaining your situation and the support required.

If we receive more requests than we can handle then we will see if anyone else in the community is willing to help.
